Why does a radio talk show host need to have a full contingent of body guards?

Is it because of "Threat"s from the leftists in this country. Why does a writer and political pundit need to have a body guard with her to travel to Canada to speak to college students? Is it because Canadians hate Americans? Or because they hate Conservative Americans?
