Why do you write poetry?

I don't have a life...I think that is why I do it
I think you are mistaken happy
about what poetry is
now I could likely make a living doing it
and have many call me good
but then it would be a job
jobs are not fun
they are stressful
I do not want my poetry to become a source of stress, that would defeat the point
besides most of my poems people seem to enjoy
are the ones that seem, mediocre to me.
Your critics are welcome, but they will likely be ignored

You write poetry because maybe you need a way to get out all your feelings. Like some ppl get there feelings out by eating or cutting themselves but your way is safest and more artistic plus you can become famous.

I used to hang in poetry when Philosophy got too painful to look at. Now I hang in poetry all the time, I guess because I am not ready to abandon Yahoo completely.

I like to critique poems that aren't a complete waste of space. But since I am so critical, many say I am hiding behind critiques. So I post the occasional effort to confirm that yes I can't write a poem to save my life. If I thought MY GARBAGE was any good then my CRITICISM would be suspect, but I KNOW I can't write, I am just expecting that YOU should be able to.

Since you do not express any interest in being any good, I have started to refrain from commenting on your stuff since it isn't work and does not need my comments to improve.

it's easier for me to vent and get everything out when i'm only confiding in a piece of paper or a word document than someone who might judge or tell others what is going on. So i write poetry to keep my sanity.

I write poetry because it's a beautiful art of expressing my feelings in a unique way in which no one is allowed to judge me because poetry is my own. It keeps my thoughts and feelings from spiralling out of control and sometimes poetry is the only way in which i can describe anything. I think you write poetry because you think deeply and differently to the shallow people on earth. You're brilliant at it and never stop writing otherwise it's a talent wasted. ;) You have a life, you just haven't realised it yet.
