when shes full she wont open her mouth, but when she wants it she opens it as soon as the spoon gets near her, but she whines while doing it, she will spit out vegetables (from gerber) and only eats the fruit ones so i know its sweet and she likes it but still whines

does any one elses babys do this?
shes been eating solids since 4 months her doctor told me to start, but she only likes mixed fruit cereal and fruits from the jar but i will make my own baby foo and see how she likes that.

she may have acid reflux. my nephew had that and he did the same thing. when he was hungry he wanted to eat really bad but you could tell something was bothering him when ate his food. hope that helps

Maybe the food is a little lumpy? babies like smooth food - puree it till it's practically liquid...maybe it's the taste?

If she is opening her mouth widely when she's doing it she's probably whining that it isn't already in her mouth! If my son is eating a plum or something and he runs out of plum and is left with only shell I hear the whining until I put another plum in front of him. (He's going through a big wanting to eat whole fruit phase.. doing pretty well @ it.. 10 months now).

Just a thought with the vegetables.. have you tried them? I did... I never put anything into my son's mouth before trying it first. & if I wouldn't eat it then I wouldn't feed it to him! I ended up making his food homemade because it's more nutritious, you can control consistency better, it tastes MUCH better and I knew exactly what he was eating and where it was from and how it was grown. It's not that hard to do... you should look into it.. at least with the veggies!
