Why do YOU think Michael Jackson wrote/sang the song 'You Are Not Alone'?

I know that r. kelly wrote the song. i know that he wrote it because of his personal life. but i was wondering why Michael had agreed to make it as his own. did it have to do with lise marie? please give me your opinion!
