I like his video games, and some of the movies, but I've never really cared for his writing. But I see him get recommended alot here, so why do you like him? What about his style really draws you in, and why? Please, be specific.
I'm no fan of his writing, so I can't recommend any books of his. I'm hoping that one of the people who recommends everytime someone asks for a book rec will come on and explain why he'd be recommended.

Alas, I fear people may just be listing him as one of the people they know write books, but have no clue as to why someone should read him.

I never cared for what I considered pacing problems in his fiction(maybe he has improved) , I do think that he takes an academic's approach to his non-fiction works by using primary sources .
Good luck !

I've never read him, but if you tell me his best book I'll read it and tell you what I think of his writing :)
