Rock is black music? Modern day rock 'n roll? I can't buy that at all.

Also, its "hijacked"... an i.

it's 2009 I've seen black guys try to act white or only date white people, it goes both ways...look at Darius Rucker, that's the whitest black dude I've ever seen....

I guess we all have to be good at something. Why do you use white peoples' inventions? Why?

Why do you drive or ride in a car? White people invented cars.

Why do you ride in an airplane? White people invented airplanes.

Why do you use anything that requires electricity? White people invented electrical power generation

Why do you listen to the radio? White people invented radios.

Why do you walk on a sidewalk? White people invented concrete.

Why do you watch TV or movies? White people invented television and motion pictures.

Why do you use anything electronic? White people invented the integrated circuit and transistor.

That's a heck of a generalization! I am afraid I don't know any white people who do however, if they are young it is an easy answer! They like so many youthful people are looking to discover themselves as well as be liked and fit in! I did it in my youth but in different terms! We all do to a degree! I don't think Sweet potato pie and fried okra are some things that white people stole! Music is non exclusive so it has no bearing! Even "Black" music came from a base somewhere other than a guitar or banjo and cotton fields if you will! It wasn't stolen either my friend! It was embraced! Then, because of the white culture involving itself in it, changed it's style somewhat to a great deal! I am sure that Willie Dixon never imagined "Spoonful" done the way the late 60's group with Eric Clapton "Cream" did it! However, Cream opened the audience to 10's of millions of others who later bought up Willie Dixon recordings! Not a bad deal for a poor Black musician!

Lmao yea right ok i see more people acting black then white. hell i have seen rich white people try to act black in a way.

Almost all American culture is Black American culture..So its not just whites copying it..Its everybody..

EDIT@ Naz, you really need to read a book. Africans were not Pagan, many of them were Muslims and those that were not had ancestral religions. Africans were forced (and by forced I mean beaten or even killed) to adapt to European religions and speak their language. The slave codes prohibited Africans from using drums because it was thought by whites to be communication. Many African Americans have kept parts of their (our) culture from Africa and the culture has been merged into American culture (look at Yams). As far as you not seeing rock and roll played by blacks on television, I guess you haven't heard of discrimination and segregation. That is why they weren't on television playing their rock and roll. The only way for them to get a half way decent check was to sell it and let white performers sing it. What are they teaching you in school ignorance?

Sudz, as far as whites stealing black culture, I don't think they are stealing it I think they are embracing it. It is beautiful to embrace other cultures. This is how we can spread love, acceptance, and tolerance.
