Why do we produce stupid TV shows, which only promote society's stupidity and...

...capitalize off of it? Fashion industries, tv, music, media, talk shows, almost every sort of thing out there seems to make money off of the general stupidity of society, and all that's wrong with the world, and it only encourages more.

All these stupid talk shows that invite all these trashy, bad examples of life, to holler and go crazy, and it does nothing but keep promoting the bs.

Isn't it sad where we live in a society that GLORIFIES stupidity and encourages it, and no one sees that it'sl ike that because, people want to make MONEY off of the masses?

I mean, keep everyone dumb and ignorant and buying everything, and listening to music artists and going on tours, and being into fashion/clothing, it's all a huge farce!

But the problem is, half of society buys into the farce, and they don't know the difference, so then they all get screwed up and screw their kids up and it all snowballs into a screwed up society where NO ONE knows the real truth anymore, b/c of the abundance of crap out there.
I mean it's bad enough that people are generally evil nowadays, I mean that word VERY loosely, but just screwed up in a sense, and we make MONEY off of them being that way,by producing stupid music artists, stupid video games, stupid fashions, stupid everything.


Final question: How do we smart guys who see through this SURVIVE, when we're caught up in this screwed up society ourselves? lol.

Laughter is what makes life worth living.

That said, dick and fart jokes usually get the most laughs out of just about anybody. They may take different forms with different audiences, but, let's face it, when somebody rips a huge fart in public, or their pants fall down and you can see their twinky, you just can't help but laugh!

Outside of that, people are inherently greedy and fearful. Hungry for more, afraid of having less. People who act without greed or fear are usually fairly enlightened. Enlightenment, more often than less, involves either losing everything or having so much that you can afford to give it all away. In the mean time, for all the stress humanity faces on a daily basis, dick and fart jokes combined with the occasional night at the titty bar (or fashion show, rock show, etc) is simply what keeps people sane, no matter how stupid it is.
 
Wow. I like the rant. I feel the same way. My answer - we produce stupid TV shows which promote society's stupidity and capitalize off of it because...society is stupid. Most of society anyways. And they are the consumers and make up the masses. Society glorifies stupidity because it makes the society bearable for the stupid that live in the society. Also, specifically re: TV, TV is a medium in which people go to "escape" their own lives...therefore, if they see stupid people on the TV, they feel better about their lives. They don't realize that by watching the stupid TV shows, they are contributing to the cycle of stupid programming.
