Why do they blur the dates on YBF?

Not to be a smartass, but do they think we're so stupid as to not be able to see how old a clip is by the clothing, hair, film quality, etc? Do people just not send in clips anymore? Or is it just cheaper for ITV to show old ones they already paid for than fork out 250 each time for a new one? It's quite baffling really. Second only to the mystery of how Don't Tell The Bride manage to book a wedding venue 4 days in advance and have it actually be available.
 
They never used to blur the date out a few years back. I remember back in 2003 i sent a video in and they rejected it, perhaps due to high demand from clips then. But it would probably go through easy now, and i'd be
