Yeah, I'm aware that this question is brought up in many forums and threaRAB in general, but my question is based more on something overlooked.
Now the general response is of course to inform the newer viewers about said Pokemon since there's no guarantee that they can see the older episodes.
But the thing is, that unlike The Orange IslanRAB and Johto, we have other regular characters (May and for the current season Dawn) who also use a Pokedex and could easily have the role of IDing an old Pokemon, while Ash does the same for the newer ones.
So I tend to wonder why the writers just don't go with that approach. And no I don't spend every waking moment thinking about this question. Just wanted to put a fresh perspective on a frequently asked question.
