Why do the TV presenters ask passers by what they think about the Royal Wedding?

I saw a poor couple grabbed yesterday outside Kensington Palace, the TV news girl asked them what they thought of the news, how do they feel about Diana, etc etc! I mean, what do they know that the rest of us don't!
