it is a way for media to cause disention and turmoil among people. they are forever seeking ways to classify and disect people into different groups because if we were all grouped together, no one could be better or worse than the other.
White isn't a race. Technically there is only one race, the human race. "Origin" better defines the indiciduals culture. Hispanic, african, asian, american indian, european, etc. Just because the U.S. census uses other terms doesnt make it right.
You're right, Hispanic is not a race. It's a term that was created by the census bureau in 1977. It's like marking yourself as Latino. However, on a census you can mark White and Hispanic, and later in the survey indicate your Hispanic origin.
