Why do states need to honor other states laws?

All states do not honor other states laws. Where did you come up with the idea that they did?

Because the U.S. Constitution mandates it. Weren't you taught in school about early flareups in the country between the new states, nearly leading to wars?

That's only when you are in the state with the law. A MD driver honors the laws of PA when he's driving there. When he's driving in MD he doesn't honor the laws of PA.
Anything else just wouldn't make sense. A universal law would be great, and on many issues we do have that.
