Why do some people only stick to their own groups, but then complain about

discrimination? For instance, there are people of many different backgrounds that only want to live in their own communities. Their choice. But then you also see ads like, "roommate wanted from country X only" or "roommate from country X preferred". Or it also happens in many other ways.

I have a friend of mine who actually only hangs around his own people. Only. He will not even deal with anyone else, besides me because we have some things in common in terms of interests. But when somebody discriminates against him, he will always complain that these people are racist. Meanwhile he will be very racist himself, but doesn't see it. Because he only rents to people of his ethnicity, treats them nicer, gives them discounts and so on.

I just give this example because there are many people like this. They only want to live in their neighborhood and not integrate, but are quick to complain. Yet they are even more racist I think.

I didn't mention any countries or ethnicities here because it applies to many obviously.

Sounds more like white people.
You need to learn the meaning of discrimination. Discrimination is not a preference, it's an act. And just because people prefer to hang around people that are similiar to them does not means that they are discriminating. Some people hang around certain groups of people for different reasons. Take for example, rich people tend to hang around other rich people, intelligent people, tend to hang around other intelligent people, and black people tend to hang around other black people, and it's not because they are being discriminatory, it's more because they don't trust white people! because for many years whites have betrayed non whites in this country, and around the world. How do you think they got America from the Indians? It's only white people, that want everything to be all white, and for no other apparent reason but that!

I don't think that people are like that are racist...i think that they are like that because of racism. It's hard to trust people who aren't like them. Wouldn't you be like that to if you kept experiencing racism from other ethnic groups.
