Why do some people look down on others because they favour private education instead...

...of public education? Any ideas? Maybe I don't want corupt and ignorant politicians deciding what is best for my child. Maybe I want my child to be educated in a respectable and clean environment. Maybe I don't want my child being a test subject to every education "fad" that comes along.
Now posters, notice I didn't say I that I necessarily wanted them educated in a Christian school, although I strongly support faith schools. I just want them raised and taught in a an environment where they are free to develop their own minds.
As far as choosing to change to another school district as opposed to sending them to private schools, that isn't always an option either because schools in an area are ran by the same school board, thus all you'll do is change from one cookie cutter school to another. Going to another county or city costs money (petrol, fees, etc). And, some districts won't let you change.
