I work at a restaurant and I'm always hearing servers say, "he left me 50 bucks on a 30 dollar check" or some crap like that, why are people so retarded, I think servers get WAY to much credit for what they do, the back of the house employees often only make 7 bucks an hour to work in a 90 degree kitchen for 10 hour shifts with a jack @$$ manager and a bunch of stuck up servers who think they're better than they are yelling at them all the time
marisa, that's not how it works at any of the places I have worked

Maybe you should start working in the front of the house. It's not as easy as you think. Dealing with grumpy diners isn't all it's cracked up to be.

You sound like a disgruntled cook. Stop your ranting and find a new job if you don't like it.

I have a daughter and a son who both tip way to much money, but they both worked in restaurants when they were younger and say you wouldn't believe the stuff you have to put up with. Then after hasseling the wait staff and running them ragged they stiff you.

Maybe those people have money to blow. I start off with a 20% tip when I first walk in. The server makes it go up or down. I've left (and gotten) larger tips than necessary, but not like that.

The servers/waiters probably kissed the butt of the customer, that's how the world is. There will always be people whose work is unappreciated.

the way tips work today is that to crew on the floor splits what is made, so it should even out. from the kitchen to the service to the matridee, all played a part in providng outstanding service.

you may not remember to food, but you always remember the service.
