Why do some people choose a best answer and then argue against it?

Don't they understand that they are saying that they are telling people when they look up the question that the person they disagree with has the best answer?
Ok, I understand when the answer is well thought out, or they had an intelligent rebuttal, but when their response is just something like "that is just stupid!"
yeah, I had a few questions that I left for voters, and was dissappointed by the outcome, but thats just the way it was and I didn't throw a fit :P

I think it is JUST so they can disagree. I mean, you get a best answer, you go take a look and you see their comment....dunno. Must just like the contention. Probably asked a stupid question or one they didnt want an answer for.
