Why do some girls take birth control pills even if they aren't having sex?

I was texting one of my friends a while back and she told me she was now on birth control pills but she said she wasn't going to have sex until marriage, so I asked her why take them and she never replied. Do some girls dude it because they think it's cool or why?
 
It's because taking BC pills helps to control a period. It can alleviate a lot of the pain, make it lighter and also make sure you don't get it at inconvenient times.Also it can help control the hormones that come with it.

It helps make menstruation more bearable for some girls, it can help clear up skin, there are many things that it can be used for.
