they are not actually hurt? I am currently enjoying the Spain/South Africa Bronze medal match in the Confederations cup. I do enjoy soccer, except for the flopping. I find it quite embarrassing and very ridiculous.
They are taught to do this to try to get a foul called. I think it is ridiculous and very bad for the game. Coaches are teaching kids to manipulate the rules and it has now permeated the game at all levels.
It will continue until they start red carding people who flop.
