I know a number of female acquaintances who think they are so smart and funny, and that everyone is interested in their generally worthless thoughts. Is this because women are usually treated more gently and no one has ever told them to shut up like you would to a guy? And instead people have fed their misperceptions about themselves with politely faked laughter or feigned interest? Should I try to explain this to these women so they have additional self-awareness and can grow as people? How should I go about bringing this up? Or is this a situation where women like this are too unintelligent and lack the ability for introspection so they will never understand that their sense of self-importance is completely unwarranted?
