Why do so many think of Olive Garden as fine dining?

I'm a waiter at a fine dining restaurant who recently went to Olive Garden for the first time.

The wine list was bullsh*t. The service wasn't anything special. The food wasn't amazing.
 
hahaha you know whats funny... my husband and i were talking about this last night.. i think olive garden is dusgusting..everyone says how amazing their bread sticks are but they are dry as $hit!!!!! its gross...i work at Carino's Italian and they are cheaper, have better service, better food, nicer environment... maybe its not fine dining but seriously..olive garden sucks so bad... haha im glad finally someone agrees with me!
 
Very funny.. :-)

It is amazing what people will qualify as "Good Food" these days. We have become a society of fast food and food chains rather than really enjoying good food we tend to want to enjoy familiar food.

Bottom line, I agree with you, Olive Garden is mediocre at best.
