Why do so many people think you should get married before having sex?

If you aren't religious, or if your religion doesn't specifically forbid it, what's the problem with premarital sex?
 
That's something left over from long ago and some woman or people say don't give it to him for free make him marry you its a religious and tactical strategic way of getting the guy to marry the woman!
 
I don't know - it is such a silly idea.

I spend a lot of time trying to convince such girls to change their way of thinking.
 
The feelings of our ancestors still affect us. The real reason behind marriage is not religion but instincts of survival. Men wanted to know that the baby a women was carrying was theirs and not someone else's and women needed someone to care for them while they were pregnant and help raise the child. With the way divorce rates are going up this will probably change fairly soon.
 
They can't get laid so they pretend they don't want to get laid until it's with someone who isn't going to reject them the first time it happens on their Honeymoon.
 
there's a chance you might get pregnant, even if you're using birth control. then you're stuck either marrying that person, being a single parent, or trying to find someone who wants you AND your baby. or if you're into murder you could abort it. so yeah, it's probably best to just wait and find the one you want to be with first.
