Why do so many liberals whine about history of the United States - as if we

were the only ones to conquer land? and misplace the natives?

Do you not understand these things began long before the USA was founded?
The point is - it was no worse than other atrocities throughout history - we have evolved since then - so why all the whining and pretention that we were the only ones?

I've wondered this myself. Wars over territory have been occurring since the beginning of time. But for some reason some libs like to believe we are an awful nation no matter what.

Sounds like another tireless rant. Every country is proud of their heritage. The US doesn't whine..unless you think every country that speaks of their past is whining. The US started when we founded it. There were native inhabitants that lived here and like many other countries, the strong overtakes the weak. Unlike many countries, we have "made up" to the natives, not giving back their land of course but by granting them certain areas and not totally adhering to state laws. I fail to see where liberals and conservatives differ on US history.

Liberals "whine" about that stuff because it was so terrible what happened to the people who lived here before us.
Jesus its no wonder you have no clue why, the schools don't even elaborate on how terrible the europeans were to the natives. We celebrate coloumbus day every year but to celebrate what? The mass slaughter of an entire culture?
I think America can be a very fucked up place.

One thing a very large amount of Americans dont know is that Native Americans were used as slaves before Africans. The reason they went over to Africa was because over 80 percent of the Native Americans were dead. And you know why they died? From exhaustion, diseases from the Europeans, and starvation.
Native Americans and the people who originally lived in Mexico were completely raped of their land by the white man and NO ONE ever agknoweledges it.
Read. You'll see.

As a world power, the US has not done that much conquering of other nations as compared to former World powers.

Remember the old saying "The sun never sets on the English empire" or how about French -insert country name here- and so on.

For a country as strong and powerful as the US and with a military as big and as well equipped as the US it should be a surprise that more countries have not been overrun/overthrown by the US.

And for reference I am not into rewriting history, if it happened it happened. That is not saying I am proud of the less than ethical periods in American history, just acknowledging they happened and willing to learn from them and move on.
