Why do sequels to most 90s animated Disney movies...

get inferior coloring? I mean, I'm sure animation has to be toned down but why the colors if most of the color was done on computers?

I'm not sure what you mean. The coloring for most of the theatrical Disney movies in the '90s was done on computers and they look just fine. The DTV sequels were bound to look inferior in animation and color, for budget reasons alone.

It's because Disney sequels were produced by the tv division and the department used cels until the early 2000s. That's why the last round of sequels like Bambi 2 and Cinderella 3 looked more like the originals.
