Why do restaurants sell big hamburgers, but they aren't cook all the way thru?

I ordered a big big burger for $8... and I bit into it. I saw a few pink.

I kinda worried about being sick...

So now, I'm not sick at all.

I guess it is okay to eat that... maybe it sorta likes eatting medium rare. I don't know. They never asked me how they want to cook my burger. I would have said
Well Done.
