Like Republicans are known for liking Military, why is this?

Especially in this day and age when we're not fighting Russia or fighting on front lines anymore, but we're fighting guerilla warfare?

We're fighting limited wars. Korea, Vietnam and Iraq were all meant to be fought to stalemates. It's not WWII anymore when the military was allowed to go in kick butt, drop bombs and get out. Now we have to be worried about what people will think about us after it's over.
