Why do Republican think that a tax hike on 5% of the richest is so bad?

The more they object to this the more people see they do not stand for the regular American and the working Joe. To pay for our roads and schools and our infrastructure I see this as fair. Why do Republicans equate this as a punishment, don't they want to have good roads and schools? I do not see them having any other ideas to raise funds do you? Nobody believes in their trickle down theories as they have been so thoroughly disproven. 95 % will pay less I think it is great!
I expect the tired line...Why punish them for success...Spare me! This is not a punishment it is a tax to pay for those things we all use and the rich have more and use more.

Republican live in a land where fairies and nymphs build roads and pay for schools. There answer to the world problems is to give the rich more. They created this mess with thier tax cuts to the rich and big oil. Exxon just had another 16 billion profit and Oil is down! Do you see it trickling down? Life is not a fair place and I think if we are going to have to raise taxes do it on those who can afford it. If they think this is punishmenrt then stop earning so much and live more frugal or give it away!. People in other countries remain rich and are taxed more so it won't kill them. No health care for the poor now is that is unfair?
 
I have always wondered this myself.Just from an election standpoint would you not want more pople to vote for you?I also wonder why major Hollywood stars side with Democrats when they basicly tell them they want them to pay more taxes.Currently the tax cuts are not going to make a major differance in my life.Yet I feel it is being put to better use by me then by a goverment that has trouble balancing thier own books.I will take what they give me.Anybody that feels that they are getting a raw deal.Just send your xtra money to me or back to the goverment.
