Why do races in the US totally lose their own culture?

First off, I like Chinese/Hispanic people (I'm not racist) But I've noticed that some hang with only white people, only like white entertainment, and are racist to other races and practically their own in a "sense". They leave their own culture being for The United States of America. I've also notice that while some African Americans do this too, we don't do it to the extent of them and is that the reason we're stereotyped in society so much because we refuse European culture and won't give in to the dominance of it in the U.S.?
 
Because mainstream society is White.... and, generally, even though they say this is the "melting pot" of the world, many people don't respect others' cultures. A lot of White people get angry if they even HEAR someone speaking a language other than English... and they criticize others' cultural traditions. So, rather than dealing with all of that, a lot of people just conform.
