Why do poor people commit so much crime? Why don't they just obey the law?

If you visit the local jail, you'll find that poor people are massively overrepresented compared to their share of the population.

Is that because poor people have inferior moral values?

I mean, there are some rich corporate criminals, too, but not that many - even if every Fortune 500 company has several criminals on its boards, that's only a few thousand corporate criminals. You can find several thousand criminals just walking around the average poor urban neighborhood.

Why don't poor people just obey the law, and conform their behavior to higher moral standards?
 
Oh yes versus the rich who pay their way out of trouble right? EVERY school shooting involved upper middle class kids if you look back on them. The Kids from Columbine were rich by all standards. You might need to rethink your post a bit.
 
They cant handle the pain there taking from all the problems that poor people have so to forget all of em they take drugs or do crime for money!
 
seriously? The reason the poor people are commiting crimes is not because of their morals its that they are desperate for some type of money because they dont have any.
