Why do pizza gurus think it's a sin to put pineapple on pizza?

I absolutely love Hawaiian pizza and people make fun of me all the time for it.
What is wrong with pineapple on pizza?
 
i love pineapple on pizza. i think the people that put zuccini on it are nuts
 
Maybe they think the sweetness of the pineapples shadows some of the other (lighter) flavours (they stick with the simplest toppings)? hmm i dunno depends on where i eat... cheap pizza i don't really care what they add to the top, but when i go to the more expensive restaurants I usually stick with the traditional fare and skip out the relatively unusual toppings (such as pineapples).
