why do people's laughs sound different from one another?

not speaking just about tone or the note of a persons laughter but also about how fast someone lets air out, body reactions stuff like that. why does laughter vary from person to person?

why is something funnier for one person than another? i remember when my friend did something a few years ago that still makes me kinda laugh today. when it happened i laughed for at least a good 8 minutes everyone else laughed for like 10 seconds... but eventually they joined me on and off through out my laughing experience.

why is laughter contagious?
i think laughter is one of the best things about being human.
