When it's clear that they have done nothing to earn it?
They know that they are putting people at risk...yet they choose to broadcast their xenophobia on youtube?
Why do they insist that they are intelligent, free-thinking people, when it's been proven that smart people READ the books that they encounter...but do not burn them?
Why can't they see that they are ridiculed, and with good reason?
They have the right to do this. Does that make them noble? Of course not. Let them burn the books. That doesn't mean they are good people. Their cause is worthless.
@Jack -PLEASE do not think I disrespect the veterans. My late uncle fought in Vietnam. I'm doing my best here NOT to crap on their service or what it means.
While the man in the currently advertised video fought for our right to do what he has done, if we want to, such an act in itself, in particular, is despicable. While it is equally protectable under our 1st Amendment, it carries an equal disrespect to burn the American flag, and I will not burn a book OR a flag anytime during my stay here on earth. I couldn't live with myself if I did.
We can do one thing worthy of respect, other actions, though carried out by the same person, cannot be equated with the same level of respect.
