Honestly gun control is really police control, police just want more power and in case you haven't noticed everyone, especially lawyers, judges and politcians fear police more than they do violent criminals.
Honestly the way things are going in Canada right now I'm convinced that we will become a police state run by a dictator soon and america will have to come invade us.
I never heard a poloitician ever say the police have too much power, I never heard a judge say it too. Why because all the real violent criminals who judges and polictians put away are only seperated by them from the police, so politicians have to protect police over civlians.
Other anti gun lobbies like victims and other law enforcement officers (parole, prison gaurds) oppose guns on ideology. I presented all the arguments and statistics that show places with lots of guns like alaska and west vrigina and switzerland have the lowest crime and places where guns are banned like miami, new york, and dc, la, all have the higest crime. Guns don't load themselves up an d blast people, people who are part of a crime culture do.
Basically anti-gun people argue that they just don't "feel" that adding more guns will make anything better. They think just more people will be killed and assume that more guns equals more violence. Usually anti-gun people know lots of irresponsible or people of poor characters and the idea of some of those people haveing guns to them seems absurd. They also claim it makes murder and suicide more easy.
They would also argue that sure you have the right to defend yourself but you are more likely to shoot someone you know by accident than a criminal. I mean how many of us who get robbed every see the criminal who is robbing us?
Most of all is this, redneck, hillbillies like me and you (even though i'm black), argue that hey if you take away guns from legal gun owners, then the only criminals will have guns you know, if you outlaw guns then only the real dangerous people who we should be scared will have them. Gun control will not make a triple homicide murdering maniac walk into a police station and give up his gun. So we say hey if a psycho murder can have a gun why can't we?
Gun control advocates will say look 320,000 guns are stolen from legal gun owerns each year. If we stopped producing guns then that 300,000 less gun that will get stolen by violent criminals. They also claim it will push up illegal gun prices making them harder to get.
The problem is most of these people have never meet as many gangbangers as I have. I know guys who went to my highschool doing 10 years in prison for shipping in 3 boat loads of heroin from vietnam and illegal arms. They told me how when the government tried to crack down on them business was good because when the price of illegal guns goes up, they make more money for ever illegal gun they sell. If a gun sells for 2000 on the streets instead 500, thats just 4 times the incentive to smuggle drugs over say something with a constant price like weed. you know 120-150 an ounce.
I don't think that anti-gun people are really aware of what goes on. Drug dealers make lots of revenue but low profit, and buying a gun is like the first thing any drug dealer does after buying drugs to resell.
If you really want to stop illegal guns, let everyone have one, so that when criminals commit crimes with their guns we can track them down and throw them away. I also think robberies and vviolence will go way down. How many people rob a police station? none, you know why? A police station is filled with illegal money, illegal guns and drugs. No one will ever rob one because no one wants to get shot by 20 armed police. Now if police didn't have guns then people would probably rob them. So people are scared of guns, not police. If everybank employee carried a gun, no one would rob a bank. Not even desperate criminals want to get shot.
