Why do people trust biased media outlets?

Yes, most are biased to some degree, but I'm referring to heavily biased ones like FOX, MSNBC and AM radio. It just seems like people trust in one or two networks like these, heavily slanted to their own end of the spectrum, and I think it's unfortunate -- especially in the cases when they dedicate a significant portion of their airtime to denouncing whoever they're biased against.

You only get half the story, or in some cases, an extremely narrow-minded, far-x-wing view of it. True, sometimes you'll see sprinkles of the other side, but it's not like that makes up for the tilt of the network in general. Why feed yourself lies? Is it just not an issue to you what the other side thinks? What if they happened to have made a good point? Hitler was the one who said to never admit fault or acknowledge the opposition.

I think the FCC needs to legislate a firm distinction between news and entertainment. If you mix them up, and they make up lies or twist the truth to fit their agenda, what are you left with? Garbage. FOX (for example) just defended their right to do this because of their freedom of speech, but where do you draw the line?
Jeffwind: I just looked up your source and it's apparently conservatively biased. Try again.

Are you advocating people are to stupid to choose what they watch?

You think some power that be should actually regulate the difference between truth and fiction? What power would this be....God?

If you think something is biased.. don't watch it. If you try to regulate peoples news.. they will just get it from somewhere else.

Truth is in the eye of the beholder. Not the eye of some pro-government organization that will some how become benevolent and "unbiased".

Why do people pretend they are asking a question when all they are really doing is posting a TL;DR essay and hoping people tell them how right they are about everything? Why not be intellectually honest and title your question: "Do you guys like the essay I wrote? I wrote it all by myself. Aren't I smart?"
