Why do people think they will save alot of money on gas driving 4cylinders cars?

vs. a six cylinder engine, I agree with you, however, vs. an eight cylinder, the difference is immense. My g/f has a Jeep Grand Cherokee. She gets about 16 MPG overall. My 4 cylinder gets similar to your posting. That's huge.

I just got rid of a 4 cylinder kia spectra that was getting by my own calculation 28 mpg and now i own a 1999 Chrysler Concorde and it gets 28 mpg aswel. I had it since october and I still only need to fuel up once a week and the gas tank is the same size. I finally came to the conclusion that 4cylinders are a waste of money and since they aren't much cheaper why wouldn't anyone wanna pay an extra 2 3hundred on a v6 option?

because we actually do save money. Your two cars are just exceptions to the poor gas mileage. Probably cause they were a little bit heavier and bigger. but anywayz, my 94 civic gets about 35-40 miles to the gallon. i just have to fill up more often b/c i drive farther than most people.
