Why do people think tennis is a stupid sport?

I mean like all my friends think in tennis you just hit a ball around. But I'm a major tennis player and tennis fan. I know that it takes tons of practice to get really good.
 
its like that when people don't like a certain sport. they don't realise the skill, practice and dedication needed to be good at it so they just take the piss.

2 of the biggest sports in the world;
- football - a bunch of men kicking a bag of air about
- american football - a bunch of men throwing a bag of air about

anything sounds crap when put in such a way :):):)
