Why do people think stereo-typing people is wrong?

Let me ask you all this.

If you saw a pick-up truck pulling a trailer of land-scaping equipment, what would you guess the nationality of the occupants of that pick-up truck was? You guessed it...Mexican / Hispanic, because we all know that it is most common that landscapers are Mexican.

You see a few people playing basketball and listening to rap music? So , you think they may be Asians? Hindus? No you guessed right. They will most likely be black people, if you had to take a wild guess...Right?

So how many black people do you see at a hockey game or NASCAR race? You can assume the majority of everyone there will be a white person with a number 8 decal on his pick-um-up truck.

So since there is a with NO DOUBT a common trait or activity that is more common with one ethnic group than any other, what is so wrong with looking at viewing people as more likely to have a stereo-type possibilty.
That stereo-typing needs to be applied to catching criminals and terrorists, because it is more common that a specific ethinic group will commit specific crimes in different ways than other ethnic groups and authorties may have to target communities which have a high number of people in that specific ethnic group.
Example, a police looking for a white supremist criminal isn't going to assume he may be hanging around in a black dominated neighborhood and may stereotype him as probably be located in the white dominated neighborhood instead, because that would make more sense. But that would be stereotyping and wrong and offend us white people because the police were doing their job...right?? (sarcasm)
So if Immigration is looking for illegal Mexican immigrants. Wow you are smart, Yes, they will target those neighborhoods with higher numbers of Mexicans..especially those who can't even speak ENGLISH!!!
