Why do people think soccer is a pussey sport?

I play varsity soccer, and it's hard as fu*k. I'm a very fast person, and have decent upper body strength, but when people ask what sport I play they think football or basketball and I tell them soccer they make the assumption I'm a pussey. I mainly ignore them, but why are some people just ignorant like that and believe soccer is easy?
 
Because as soon as a footballer gets hit they dive to the floor and crying for ages when its a little minor tap on the leg :L thats what people get irritated by. By yer it is aggressive most of the time.
 
im a football player myself, but they are completely different games.

soccer is a contact sport, football is a collision sport

soccer you need speed and lots of endurance, while in football you only need short bursts of speed.

i know football is not easy at all, but im sure soccer is very hard too, they are just hard in different ways
