why do people think eating raw fish is bad or gross?

its not gross at all thats how we do it in hawaii it may look gross but taste soo good!!
um they clean the fish an if there was a disease i think a lot of people in hawaii would of been really sick. raw fish taste nothing like the smell of fish i love it with kimchee sauce omg yum!!

those people may be afraid of something different than what their own culture eats. they just don't have the guts to try something new and enjoy the differences and diversity life gives us

Because people have been taught that any raw meat is obviously a seething mass of bacteria, just ready to give you food poisoning. They think you need to cook the crap out of all meat for it to be safe for consumption.
