Why do people still watch the mainstream news?

If they know its controlled, regulated and owned by the wealthy elite that live to maintain the status quo, why would they still watch it? Look at how we got into the iraq war, look at how we got into the vietnam war, look at how we got into the spanish-american war. Why give these propaganda puppets any power over us?
