It's not about the poorly drawn cartoons. It's not even aimed at Muslims.
The purpose is for civilized people to stand up, and say "we will not give up our freedoms." It's saying we will not be bullied. It's saying we will not give up what makes us who we are because some psychopaths can't get over themselves.
It's for us to tell ourselves that we've had enough, and we're not going to take any more.
