Why do people mistake Poetry to reality?

I am 14 and am really serious about my poetry.Its part of who i am.I just do not understand why people think or take my poetry as reality.I cannot write jolly poetry's or ones that makes someone laugh...they are always emotional, sad and deep....Whenever someone reads it they say why do you write so emotional poetry's?Are you depressed? Do you have a family problem?....I get really annoyed!....I am really happy with my life but people take my poetry as a real pain that causes me to write that way.They say at such young age you can only write such when you are in pain or depression!...Poetry is feelings which i feel putting myself into the character....the feelings are mine but not what is happening...Even my friends think i am emo!....wth i really don't get it why do they think that what we write is what is happening with us or what we are going through?why?Please tell me what to do!....i get really annoyed being sympathized every time someone reads my poetry...
