Why do people listen to politicans when it comes to Climate Change?

whimsy

The measured increase of ocean acidity caused by atmospheric CO2 moving towards equilibrium with the oceans (and subsequently becoming carbonic acid) is indisputable especially when compared to measured atmospheric CO2 increases. Not to mention the fact that the isotopic ratio of atmospheric C12/C13 shows a trend towards increasing lighter carbon (from organic sources), as well.

But hey, it's easier to believe in hoaxes, I suppose

Isn't that about the same as letting your dentist operate on your heart?

Seriously - most of these people have no idea what climate change is and for all they know it's just rise in temperature!

It's absolutely hilarious how people following these uneducated Neanderthals when they use another scientific theory to try and disprove the theory of climate change.

It's crazy! Any good scientist supports the possibility of it being a hoax, natural or man made or a little of both. But these politicians are claiming they are right and they know the answers and people follow them.

Why is that America?
Why is it that Americans put so much faith in politicians?

To me thats pretty scary.
Liberals Destroy Farm Land - Climate Change and an Ice age go hand in hand theoretically - so now I know you apparently don't know enough about the theories to be a critic.

During the Ice Age the land masses had more water than the ocean. The Polar Ice caps and glaciers are melting rapidly around the world. Over the past 5 years you can see a major difference in size.

A loan ice cap or glacier popping up doesn't mean we're getting colder.
Exactly Whimsy.

Glad to see you are educated on the issue vs the sheep who dismisses it as a farce instantly with out examining the evidence.

Al Gore just thought it was important enough to bring to everyone's attention. He himself isn't the one doing the research. There are many many scientists out there who are convinced it's happening. I believe them over you. I'm just saying....

Because politicians get their policy information from scientific sources and the vast majority of the science community urges action to dramatically lessen the human effects on climate change
politicians are mouthpieces for societal interests and have a platform on which to address these issues with people.
A scientist could address these issues from a platform addressing people but it is hardly equivalent in scale to address such a pressing issue.

Is it fact or is it not? We can continue to discuss, but when Al Gore gets a gajillion dollars to have some Swedish company build a $90,000 green car (no one will be able to afford) I have to question the motives.

50% of Americans need someone tell tell them their opinions, many of them turn to the politicians and pundits to guide them through life. As a result this has become the political issue that it never should have been.

Yes it is scary. It might have to do with the fact that most Americans don't know the earth tilts on its axis (thank you public schools), hence season change. Watch, we'll hear reports on the news this winter that the South Pole is melting and losing crazy amounts of ice, nevermind the FACT that it's the Southern Hemisphere's summer.
