Why do people like chevy?

I'm 18 and am in college, well.. Ive been working at a garage for extra credit. And it seems to me as theres WAY more chevys in the shop then ford. Of course im a Ford Fan, But every chevy we see has a engine knock problem. So pretty much my question is why do people hate on fords, more then people that hate on chevy.
 
interchangeable parts, better design, better look. by the way have you been to a dirt track in a while? everyone there runs monte carlos and camaros.
