why do people justify the cost of the ps3 because of the bluray player?

i can't say that the bluray disc player is worth paying $500-600 alone...some people are saying that though.

i remember when dvd players first came out. they were $500+ easily. i bought my first dvd player when it was $250. it's so limited compared to my current

it is DAMN well worth the price.



But, just like a new Veyron would be a steal at 500k, its still too damn much for a car.

That's true but my problem with the PS3 is that all I want from that list is the PS3 - I don't want a PS1, PS2, Bluray player or free movie.

I knew a few people who justifed buying ps2's in that they could play dvd's. We all know how well that worked out (with skipping, quality and user freindlyness).

Are ps3s going to be the same with bluray?

All the consoles this year are over priced, the Wii is over priced, the PS3 is overpriced and the 360 was over priced when it came out
