Why do people judge me so harshly without knowing me?

Okay well months (October) ago I changed styles, I was sort of preppy but I turned to a different style. I hate using stereotypes but I sort have to use it to describe how I dress now. Now I dress sort of punk, goth, scene, emo. Ever since then people tend to judge me a lot without knowing me, not even giving me a chance. Also I think this limited how many guys that would get attracted to me. I did this for me and I'm not going to change for anyone. I just want to know why they wouldn't give me a chance and label me a freak...
 
punk, goth, scene, and emo are all completely different things. decide on a style, please.
anyway, everyone is judged on how they look/dress. if you like how you dress, who cares what other people think of you?
 
Because that's just the reality of the world we live in. It's not fair, but if you're not planning on changing, you might as well get used to it.
