Why do people have to play mind games over text message?

I don't understand why so many people around my age (18) have to play mind games over text message. It's like people like to play hard to get over a freaking text message. I've had guys try to 'leave me hanging' and 'wanting more' by always making me the last person to respond in a text conversation. And then there was this one guy who tried to be mysterious or something by always purposely waiting exactly 20 minutes to reply to a text. I noticed that he did that, I'm not dumb.

Why do people have to play mind games over text messages?
 
alot of people always misunderstand txt messages because people cant express them self in front of you with tone or expressions. so txt messages are miss understood alot happens with me to often
 
Dating just isn't the way it used to be. We have replaced the face to face interactions with texting, and it's kind of sad. Unfortunately, boys and texting don't seem to mix well. They don't seem to understand how when they text us, we take it to heart. So try not to take it too much to heart.
