Why do people have a problem with eating alone at a restaurant?

I just asked a question if you go to restaurants alone or with someone and which one do you enjoy more,and everyone answer "I bring someone,eating alone is humiliated and sad".i eat at restaurants alone all the time and I have alot of friends.I better eat alone than with someone.
excuse me,but when I eat alone,I'm wearing a business suit with a watch,also I have a happy face on

Because it's pathetic when someone has no one to even eat with. When it's a girl, it means she's too ugly to get a man to pay for her meal.

i do both.
it makes people feel weird probably because if you look around, everyone probably has someone sitting at the table. so the one table with one person looks weird.

i like eating alone. i like eating with people. i don't care!

If it's a nicer one (not fast food), then it's awkward. At least it would be for me. But there's nothing pathetic about it.
