Why do people from the hood think they can fight better?

When i hear the word "Fight". I examine it. What do you mean exactly? Does it mean you can fight proficiently because you've gone through extenstive training and are an accurate striker and grappler? Or does it mean you've been in more fights so your use to the action and being jumped? Because people from the hood may be more experienced from being jumped and having to defend themselves but does that necessarily mean they're actually skilled fighters? Or just use to taking beatings? If a hoodrat was put in a ring with an amateur boxer, could the hoodrat honestly defeat the boxer? Anyone on any given day can get KTFO'd. So IDK why so many people think they're tough

You are right about the fact that anyone can be knocked out at any time, but I do not think that people from the hood really believe they can fight better than professional or amateur fighters. Of course there is the occasional basket case who thinks they are the baddest fighter on the planet, but those kind of people live outside of the hood too. Mainly, the ghetto has its fair share of folks who will take advantage of weaker people, so it is only natural for some people from the hood to act tough to avoid confrontations.

Getting jumped is different altogether. Whether someone is used to taking a beating or not, getting jumped is always the result of someone being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Trust me, no one wants to get jumped, with the only wild exception being joining a gang. Also, if you were jumped numerous times you would eventually become a better fighter or a better runner. Once again, it is only natural to believe that you might fair much better against one opponent especially if you are used to being jumped.

I come from the city and I don't think I'm a better fighter than anyone else. There may be a few that do but not all people from the city think on those terms.
