Why do people find it weird when black people listen to rock?

I love to listen to rock music. People think that its weird that me and my friend (who is black) listens to Rock and barely Rap. They say we are oreoes or we aren't black were are white. I just don't get why people think it's so weird. I mean I listen to rock "all" the time and enjoy it lol.

Because they're racially segregating themselves music-wise. Music has no racial or sexual limits, and can be enjoyed by anyone. They're just ignorant d-bags

If it weren't for black people and blues, there wouldn't be rock.
 
i dont know i like all types of music but when i sing a lyric to a "white song" my friends and family look at me wired i just roll with it dont let other people dictate what you like or dont like
 
i don;t rock is better and everyone should listen to rock and metal i don't care wut anyone says or finds weird f*ck em i got alot of black friends into Metal Grunge, Punk and y not all rock and metal acts are very unracist they're mainly democratic and very political such as Nirvana where kurt cobain has said he hates racists and sexist ppl and robb flynn from machine head has said he's stop wars and in a song he says its f*cked up that ppl are racist. but i think rap is the most racist really
 
oh goodness sake i find that VERY ANNOYING i too am black and i listen to rock ALL the time i mean there is nothing wrong with it.... i too am being an oreo lol ..... its not my fault that i rarely listen to hip-hop and rap but they just dosen't get my attention like rock or metal does ...... Anybody should be able to listen to anything they want, no matter skin color, race, whatever. I listen to rap as well and I am white and Metal is my favorite genre.
 
Because certain people are jackasses.
People can be very ignorant.
