Why do people continue to vote even when the government gives nothing back in return?

Deficit of Democracy there is and I say alternative media and citizens running for office plus Worker Councils, elected in local areas plus amassing of wealth by workers to control means of production
and decide where,when,and how or what the work will be.
Also Universal Declaration of Human Rights to demand fair elections and create international vote.
In addition U.N. Manuals to train citizens so they can enforce U.N. Charter to protect Human Rights in place of armies. U.N. Says has responsibility to prevent genocide and to do so it is necessary to change American Society as it is powerfull force in world. When citizens show up and demand they be heard it is called a deficit of democracy. Perhaps citizens can use Universal Declaration of Human Rights apply to live up to purpose written in it. Not being rude encouraging.

Voting is a disgusting habit that has been embedded into the minds of every american person .
The government takes and takes and gives a small few scraps back for your vote .

The wealthy realized long ago that the masses are passified by having a perceived amount of power through voting, eventhough the opinion of the masses means absolutely nothing to the decision making of the wealthy. Bush showed every American that their vote was meaningless, because he did not have the majority vote and still became President. Because Americans love living in a denial state, they believe that their vote put Obama in office. Amazing.
